We are going to a very unique place on earth! Barrinha is a community on the coast of Piauí, Brazil, and it is known for being a tranquil place, with a beach of warm waters and natural atmosphere. The region is a popular base for those seeking a peaceful retreat, enjoying one of a kind nature and the local culture.
This region, beyond its natural beauty, is also home to a Manatee Sanctuary; the Parnaíba Delta (the largest river delta in the Americas), with mangroves, river islands, dunes, and creeks; the Seahorse Route; Sea turtles (all five Brazilian species nest along this coastline); and the Lençóis Piauienses, where quad biking leads you to natural pools of crystal-clear water.

Retreat Dates & Travel Details
Enjoy an 8-day, 7-night retreat from June 11–18, 2026. Your journey begins with a shuttle pick-up at Jericoacoara Airport around lunchtime on Thursday, 06/11, followed by a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Barrinha. On the morning of 06/18, we’ll depart from our accommodations and return to the same airport. We recommend planning your flights with an extra day on each end to allow for comfortable travel time.
What to expect
Each day begins with a grounding yoga practice to awaken the body and center the mind — preparing us for whatever adventure awaits. Throughout the week, we dedicate two unforgettable days to curated excursions, exploring breathtaking landscapes and immersing ourselves in the spirit of the destination. In between, there is space to slow down and savor: long beach walks, local culture, meaningful conversations, laughter with new friends, and unhurried moments of rest and restoration. As the sun sets, we gather again for an evening practice to unwind and integrate the day, followed by dinners in the local village — sharing stories, flavors, and the simple joy of being fully present.

Location
Located on the edge of Laguna do Santana, a breathtaking and rare coastal formation where saltwater rises with the full and new moon tides. Here, nature surrounds you: wild animals, sunrises accompanied by birdsong, sunsets alongside wild horses - or simply the chance to breathe.

Casauba's amenities include swimming pool with covered lounge area, barbecue grill, functional and gourmet kitchen, air-conditioned TV room, dual internet providers and a dedicated team: cook, housekeepers, caretaker, and night watchman.

Envisioned by Andrea and her partners, Renata and Daniel, Casa Dharma was born from a dream of creating a space for a better, more intentional way of living - a place to welcome friends, travelers, and fellow yogis. In just a short time, it has become a renowned retreat center in Northeast Brazil, known for its warmth, beauty, and deep connection to yoga.
Equipment
Located within walking distance from Casauba, our beautifully equipped shala is complete with straps, blocks, bolsters, and blankets. We will provide Manduka Travel mats for all retreat participants, but you are welcome to bring your own yoga mat if you prefer.

Excursion 2 - Lençóis Piauienses
Unique Landscape
Our next adventure takes us into the stunning Lençóis Piauienses, a landscape of rolling dunes, crystal-clear lagoons, and endless horizons.
After lunch, we’ll hop into 4x4 UTVs and ride across the sand paths like true explorers, stopping to swim in refreshing natural pools and soak in the beauty around us.
We’ll end the day watching a golden sunset melt over the dunes – an unforgettable moment of awe, joy, and pure freedom.
This is the kind of experience that stays with you long after the retreat ends. It’s an extraordinary setting for adventure, connection, and inner renewal.
Traveling to Brazil
Getting ready.
Make sure to have your passport ready (with an expiration date over 6 months after Jun 2026) and apply for your visa as soon as possible (we can provide you detailed information, if needed).
Exchange your money to Brazilian Reais. The exchange rate favors early exchange. Although credit cards are accepted on most places, having some cash may be very handy. Check international fees with your bank / credit card carrier.
